Article: Introducing Game Night

Brass claw machine and purple glitter prize wheel on a black marble bar

Introducing Game Night

Some Saturdays, we trade the usual setup for a claw machine, a prize wheel, and a whole lot of glitter. Pull up a seat. It is game night.

How a pass works

A pass comes with two things: that night's custom mix, blended for the event and never sold on its own afterward, plus three tokens for the claw machine.

The claw is the fun part and, honestly, the unpredictable part. That is why a miss is not a loss. If the claw comes up empty, the wheel spins instead. Every token is a winner, so you get three turns and something to take home.

The mix is the part that does not come back

Every game night has its own mix, made for that night and tucked into every pass. It is not listed afterward. Once the pour is done, that one stays part of the night.

The point is not to win the biggest prize. It is to come hang out, take a few turns, and leave with a little piece of the evening.

This blog pairs well with…

Razzle Dazzle 🍸

  • 1 1/2 oz vodka
  • 3/4 oz lemon juice
  • 1/2 oz raspberry syrup
  • Lemon-lime soda to top

Shake the first three with ice. Pour into a highball over fresh ice and top with soda.

For a mocktail, skip the vodka and add a little extra lemon-lime soda.

Our house pour for a night built on lights and noise. Bright, loud, and slightly ridiculous, which is the correct register for a claw machine. → Razzle Dazzle, a fine and shaped mix in purple and pink.
